Just for Kids
in Williamsville named School Age Program of the Year
Williamsville, NY (December 1,
2015) - Just for Kids, a
Williamsville-based nonprofit organization providing morning and afternoon enrichment
programs in elementary and middle schools in the Williamsville Central School District was recently named School Age
Program of the year for its dedication to raising the level of quality care and
education in its program.
Just for Kids provides
before and after school programs across Western New York and received the 2015 School Age Program Award from the Child Care Resource Network.
"Being named the 2015 School Age
Program of the year is a huge honor," said Kristina Kleeh, Director of School Age Programs at Just for Kids.
"To know that we were chosen out of more than 100 other similar organizations
in Western New York really highlights the importance of what we do each and
every day. It sets us apart from many of
the other before- and after-school programs offered to children and families in
the region."
Just for Kids was also
recognized for "consistently demonstrating a commitment to professional
development and quality early care and education."
"We work very hard to provide a
top-notch enrichment program for school aged children in Western New York," Kleeh said. "Just for Kids isn't just about babysitting children after school.
We have crafted educational before and after school programs that help educate
children through hands-on, creative approach in well-organized and safe
environments."
Just for Kids currently offers morning programs at Casey Middle and Transit
Middle as well as Country Parkway
Elementary and Maple West Elementary
in the Williamsville Central School
District, as well as afternoon programs at the following district schools: Country Parkway Elementary, Dodge
Elementary, Forest Elementary, Heim Elementary, Maple East Elementary, and Maple West Elementary.
The 2015 School Age Program Award
is given to a school aged program provider who serves children ages five to 12;
demonstrates an ongoing commitment to professional development; consistently
provides high quality early care and education; is responsive to the needs of
children and families; and is compliant with New York State School Age Child
Care Regulations.
There are 103 school age child care programs participating in the Child
Care Resource Network that are eligible for this award. In order to be
considered for the award, providers need to be nominated by an outside source.
Just for Kids currently
provides before and after-school enrichment programs to more 1,000 school age
children in public and private schools throughout Western New York and has more
than 150 staff members, most of whom hold degrees in education or are pursuing
degrees. Besides offering before and after school programs, Just for Kids also offers break camps
and summer day camps. The nonprofit has been providing services in Western New
York for more than 20 years.
Besides the Williamsville
Central School District, Just for Kids currently runs programs for the Grand Island Central School District andCheektowaga Central School District,
as well as select private schools in Western New York.
Just for Kids is currently
looking to expand its program into other schools - both public and private - in
the Western New York area.
